Very nice articles, thank you.

It would be very useful if it were possible to get all the cash course in HLSL articles in one PDF file.
Then it could all be printed out and added to reference documents.

Thanks again for the articles and all the work involved in mamking this available to us folks.

[...] This tutorial is for beginner to intermediate level programmers. At least you should know the oo basics and know the nitty-gritty about the XNA framework. Also, basic shader programming is explained somewhere else (e. g. here: http://www.sgtconker.com/2009/11/crash-course-in-hlsl/) [...]

I'm always glad when a tutorial of mine helps someone :)
Shaders are really nice and learning to use them will help you a lot. Just remember that if you target the Windows Phone, XNA 4.0 has no support for shaders on that platform.

Very interesting and well written article! I always has a bit of trouble getting the hang of shaders, but this has helped me out! Perhaps I should start looking into XNA again, with the new 4.0 release and all :)

[...] Greetings again, good sirs and ladies. This week, we will have a different kind of scoll to look at. Instead of looking into the archives for scrolls written by other people in times past, I will show you something that I accidentally found in my own archives today. This was written many moons ago, as a sample for a book that was to be written for a great library together with some other wizards of XNA land. Even though the library keepers liked my writing, their plans for that book changed, and it never got written. Alas, I decided to not let those scrolls be forgotten, so I blew the dust off of them, made some corrections, and decided to bring them to your attention. In them, I talked about a detailed introduction into the magic of HLSL, and the basic elements needed to understand and use this wonderful kind of magic. You can find it here. [...]
