  1. I would love to contribute on some level. I am currently learning C# and XNA and have many ideas I want to explore. If I come up with any ideas for your blog, I’ll post another comment.

  2. Merry Christmas back to you. And thanks for doing this site. With Ziggyware going down, there is a huge hole left for a site that compiles and organizes articles and tutorials.

Regarding articles, since you asked, here is what I would like to see:
    - Performance analysis for XNA on 360 and PC
(I’ve read everything I can find online regarding nProf, CLRProfiler, XNA Framework Remote Performance Monitor for 360 etc. I especially appreciated your “Scrolls from the Past” posting on the subject. Very Nice!! I read it all and refer back to some sites constantly. Perhaps it’s my pea sized brain….but I’m still shooting in the dark trying to discover where my GCs are coming from and what’s causing gameplay glitching. Every posting I have read provides only a brief cursory example of using these tools….at best. One of the best examples…found here http://bittermanandy.wordpress.com/2008/08/20/tools-of-the-trade-part-three-clrprofiler/
again only provides a brief glimpse of using CLRProfiler and as best I can tell…it’s only using a pre-made example that will give GC. I would love to see a full fledged tutorial profiling a real game and showing how to identify and stomp out GC problems.)

    - Storage for XNA
(This is another area that could really use some tutorial love. I’ve read through and even tried to use Nick Gravelyn’s EasyStorage solution but man is the code over my head. Numerous layers of inheritance, passing crazy stuff all over the place, seems like 12 classes and dozens of error checking going on in the SaveDevice update loop that just seems like massive overkill for something that shouldn’t be so complicated. And ultimately the class protections are locked down so tight, I was never able to incorpate it into my game. Plus I have a rule that if I can’t figure out what’s going on with the code, I don’t use it. Bless Nick’s heart but us mortals could use a simpler well documented solution. And don’t even get me started on MSDN’s attempt to provide an explanation.)

If I ever get my game out the door, I’ll contribute some beginner articles. I have a site myself, http://www.xnascratch.com, but I haven’t contributed to it since I decided to focus on finishing my game.
    Thanks
    Allan Chaney
