OpenStream and Landscape

Jim "not the evil MVP anymore" Perry talks about Ch…ch…ch….ch…changes in XNA, starting with the new OpenStream API, and continuing with rendering in landscape mode. Sure, one of these is not an actual ch...ch...ch...change by any stretch (rather a very short tutorial), but at least it mentions one vaguely related change at the end of the post.

  1. Since I can’t comment on Jim’s post (since he turned off comments), I’ll point out here that there will eventually be support for automatic scaling and rotation on the device: http://blogs.msdn.com/shawnhar/archive/2010/03/15/roll-up-roll-up-get-your-ctp-here.aspx. So I would personally make sure that if you use Jim’s approach, you do so in a way that’s real easy to remove when the framework starts handling all of that for you.
