A Petition And a Port
There is a petition open for signature to convince Microsoft to open the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace to all countries (or in which phones are available at least).
The other thing is a fund raiser to release ExEn: XNA for iPhone [Ed.: iOS?], Android and Silverlight under the Ms-PL and add Android support.

I think it’s crazy to sell a smartphone without the possibility to download apps. I don’t think the general audience care if marketplace is not in their language as opposed to not being able to download apps at all! It’s silly how I can’t even buy a game that I’ve made. But the worst part is the lack of information about it, why is it disabled, will it come to the other countries? The only thing I’ve seen about it is on windowsphone.com where is says “Marketplace**Only available in some countries” which isn’t a lot.
Other than that, great phone

The petition is fun, but business wise this is just not going to happen. Every country has different laws regarding online shops. As soon as MS makes a shop explicitly available in a country they have to abide by the rules of that country.
Some rules are just not compatible with MS/other countries. Or it’s way to hard to abide to those rules (compared to the expected profit).

@roy-t – I don’t understand why people haven’t gotten this yet. They still complain about Xbox Live not being available in every country in the world. :\
I guess people just need something to whine about.
